Social Studies is at the center of all progressive education curriculum.  EAW believes that social studies should be rooted in the child's experience and in the community that surrounds her. We take teachers into their communities to help them identify the rich educational resources that surround them.  Then we work on creating multi-disciplinary ways of building on experience, through art, through language, through mathematics, through science, through group work, through discussion and through problem-solving.
